The computer as a metamedium enables one to increasingly transcend
space, which now becomes "artificial space", synthetic cyberspace.
(The latter has resulted from the needs of the military/industrial complex
for networks and flight simulators). The contraction of global interspaces
through international medial attractions will be accompanied by a
further instantiation of the media: hypermedia compression to a
gravitational collapse awaits us, something that resembles the black
hole, the psycho-social effects of which have surprises in store.
