Niels Bohr may have thought Chaos is in Order as he chose the Chinese yin-yang symbol for merging opposites as his emblem. Chaos originally did not mean just disorder in the sense that lilies bloom on a field but also in the sense of a void, a wasteland. Apeiron, the Greek word for infinity, also referred to the primal chaos out of which the world evolved. Evidently there have been cultural movements for a long time in which the void is seen in terms of complementarity. But beyond this, also the practical and personal experience of emptiness through psychophysical techniques is ascribed great importance.
